濟南輕型鋼結構房屋沒有嚴格的定義，一般可用主要受力構件的截面組成來區(qū)分。因此以下的結構都可稱為輕型鋼結構：

判定結構為重鋼與輕鋼結構確實沒有一個統(tǒng)一的標準，很多有經(jīng)驗的設計師或項目經(jīng)理也常常不能完全說明白，但我們可以以一些數(shù)據(jù)綜合考慮并加以判斷：

一、廠房行車起吊重量：大于等于25噸，可以認為為重鋼結構了。

四、另外，還有一些參考值：如每平米造價，大構件重量，大跨度，結構形式，檐高等，以上這些在判斷廠房是否為重鋼或輕鋼時可以提供經(jīng)驗數(shù)據(jù)，當然現(xiàn)在很多建筑都是輕、重鋼都有。但有一些我們可以較肯定的說是重鋼：如：石化廠房設施、電廠廠房、大跨度的體育場館、展覽，高層或超高層鋼結構。

五、實際上國家規(guī)范和技術文件都并沒有重鋼一說，為區(qū)別輕型房屋鋼結構，也許稱一般鋼結構為“普鋼”更合適。因為普通鋼結構的范圍很廣，可以包含各種鋼結構，不管荷載大小，甚至包括輕型鋼結構的許多內(nèi)容，輕型房屋鋼結構技術規(guī)程只是針對其“輕”的特點而規(guī)定了一些更具體的內(nèi)容，而且范圍只局限在單層門式剛架。

To distinguish light steel structures in buildings, it may be more appropriate to refer to general steel structures as "ordinary steel". 六、輕鋼也是一個比較含糊的名詞，一般可以有兩種理解。一種是現(xiàn)行《鋼結構設計規(guī)范》（GBJ 17－88）中第十一章“圓鋼、小角鋼的輕型鋼結構”，是指用圓鋼和小于L45＊4和L56＊36＊4的角鋼制作的輕型鋼結構，主要在鋼材缺乏年代時用于不宜用鋼筋混凝土結構制造的小型結構，現(xiàn)已基本上不大采用，所以這次鋼結構設計規(guī)范修訂中已基本上傾向去掉。另一種是《門式剛架輕型房屋鋼結構技術規(guī)程》所規(guī)定的具有輕型屋蓋和輕型外墻（也可以有條件地采用砌體外墻）的單層實腹門式剛架結構，這里的輕型主要是指圍護是用輕質(zhì)材料。既然前一種已經(jīng)快取消，所以現(xiàn)在的輕鋼含義主要是指后一種。
